It is time for our spring blood drive through LifeSouth. The blood drive will be held March 25 and 26 in the auditorium. Community donors are welcome to drop in at any time during those two days between 8:00 and 1:00 to donate. Sign-up forms and permission forms are available on the bulletin board outside room 402. Students who will be 16 years old at the time of donation must have a parent permission form. Students under 16 years old may not give.
Seniors, you can go to admissions at the University of South Alabama and apply to South with no application fee on March 30 ONLY ( during spring break ) from 11:00 A.M. until 2:30 P.M. Remember, USA is superscoring now.
Students, do you enjoy singing, dancing, and performing? MGM Theater will host the Young Americans Performing Arts workshop--a national touring arts college--March 29-31. Each Young Americans Performing Workshop brings an incredible, college-aged cast of specially-trained performers and teachers providing an exciting atmosphere for you to learn, create and grow! This workshop includes everything from vocal and dance training to a full stage performance. The Young Americans cast of 20 perform the first act as a gift for your community. During the second act, you and your friends will be the stars--singing dancing, and performing in the show and solos you've learned in just three days. This workshop is open to all experienced levels and all MGM students; you do NOT want to miss out on this opportunity. Any junior who makes a 25 on any ACT and has a minimum 3.0 GPA is able to take one tuition free class at the University of South Alabama during senior year. You must pay for the textbook and any class fees. Check mgmguidanceoffice on Instagram for more information on how to apply.

Seniors who attended Phillips Preparatory School. There is a senior reunion on Wednesday, April 22 from 3:00-5:00 at Phillips Prep School. Dress is casual, and refreshments will be served.
Are you going to the prom? Do you want to the be sharpest and best dressed? Are you worried that you won't be able to afford the perfect dress or tux? Well, Mrs. Dixon has some exciting news for you. The Royal Closet will dress you and do your alterations for free. Mr. Firle has been kind enough to get a bus that will transport the first 35 students who sign up to attend the event. On March 16, the bus will leave MGM promptly at 3:00 P.M. After you finish finding the perfect attire, the bus will drop you off at home. It's a win/win situation. In order to ride the bus, you have to sign up in guidance with Mrs. Dixon.
Prom is March 21 at The Grounds (fair grounds) from 7-11 P.M. We do not sell "tickets" for students. We have a record of those who have paid JUNIOR dues. All students who have paid JUNIOR dues will be admitted. If a junior or senior has still NOT paid JUNIOR dues (as a junior last year or a junior this year), he/she may still pay them in order to receive admission to the prom. Dues are $70. Dues should be paid to Ms. Hardin, the bookkeeper in the front office, before or after school. . If a student was a junior last year and attended prom, they are good for this year's prom as well. Students who plan to bring dates from other schools or sophomores from MGM can get date forms from Ms. D. Johnson in room 606. Freshmen are not allowed to attend the prom. Sophomores are only allowed as approved dates going with juniors and seniors. All prom questions and information should be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org. information aboutvguest tickets and a complete dress code will be available on the school website by February 9.
Mr./Miss Viking Pageant information--Mr. Viking will be Friday, March 13, and Miss Viking will be Saturday, March 14. 6:30 P.M.
Seniors, any scholarships you have received need to be turned in to Mrs. Dixon in guidance. It doesn't matter how small or whether it is from a college/university or private company. The information can also be emailed to email@example.com Please remember it must be on official paperwork from the issuing institution. Please also turn in a screenshot of your FAFSA page to Mrs. Dixon where it shows the amounts of grants you have been awarded.
Graduation is confirmed for May 12 at 5:30 P.M. at USA Mitchell Center All graduation information about events will be distributed to seniors at their senior meeting on Friday, March 20. All seniors are expected to be at this meeting in order to receive important information. Mid year graduates should also attend.
Seniors, Mr. and Miss Montgomery High School applications are now available. The application seeks those seniors who are the best of MGM. What qualifies as "best" are the activities and contributions individuals have made to make MGM a better and happier place to learn. Any senior interested in becoming Mr. or Miss Montgomery High School must complete an application process. Applications can be picked up from Mr. Crabtree in room 426. The deadline for turning in applications is Monday, March 16, 2020. No applications will be accepted after 2:20 P.M.
Seniors, there are several scholarships in the scholarship rack on the wall next to guidance that are about to close. Please stop by to see if you qualify for any of them.
Sophomores and Juniors, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. will host a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) College Fair on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at the Mobile Convention Center. We can only accommodate 35 students. We are going to open registration up to the first 25 juniors and 10 sophomores who want to sign up. Sign up in guidance with Mrs. Dixon and return the permission slip by Friday, March 12.
